Wooden Mugs

author-gravatar vsur Jan 27, 2016

These are a few mugs I have made quite recently from some offcuts of Jarrah and Spotted Gum. The method is the same as I have described in the first wooden mug project I uploaded.

Jarrah and Spotted Gum are both very dense hardwoods with really nice grain. The grain finishes to a figured look but I had a lot of problems with tearout during the rounding steps, so I had to do most of the shaping by rasp and sandpaper
