Japanese Inspired Toolbox

author-gravatar windsordrygoods Aug 06, 2017

A toolbox inspired by those used by Japanese carpenters. Simple joinery and basic materials were used to craft this whimsical, yet fully functional tool box. This piece was built from black walnut and cherry primarily, with cypress and one piece of olive wood creating the locking mechanism. Bamboo and walnut dowels were used for securing pieces together in conjunction with glue. This was finished with beeswax and Linseed oil.
