Walnut and Danish Cord ottoman

author-gravatar Lancaster_pouch Dec 30, 2019

Here's a footrest that I built earlier in the year. It's an original design that features hand chopped, blind and through, wedged mortise and tenon joints, a Danish cord weaved top, carved detail on the endgrain tops, and few other carved details.

Wow really nice! I've never done a weave before but it fits great with that stool. Perhaps in Teak for outdoor use.

Great job, I love the design!

Thanks, pretty basic design but the small details add a bunch.

Thanks! The walnut and blonde danish cord was calling me. The weave is pretty easy after you get the basics down. Your fingers will hurt after the first session. Not sure how the cord would hold up outside, even if covered...?
