I this is a small box I built out of boredom during the last few weeks of the Covid lockdown. Because Ive been barely working, and trying not to leave the house my goal has been to use materials I have laying around, no wood runs means no spending money. This is made from my old fence, turns out they used some really pretty redwood to build fences 30 years ago so a bunch of it got saved from the burn pile to make small projects. The handle is a piece of Wenge I had from a dumpster score of about 20 sq/ft of solid Wenge flooring. It’s constructed with hand cut dovetails and finished with shellac. One cool feature I’ve not seen anybody else do is yay I made the top dovetail 1/8” wider than the rest to account for the saw kerf when I cut the lid off, now that it’s separated all of them are the exact same size. #woodworking #reclaimedwood #handcutdovetails
