This is my sapele baby dresser for my son Levi! 

I really wanted to make a curved piece and this was it. The veneer is quartersawn sapele from gl veneer.  The substrate is 3/4in ply and the curves are 6in radius made from luan. 

The drawer faces  are all solid sapele. I am really working on trying to pay attention to the grain matching and direction for the most pleasing look. The drawer boxes are 1/2in ply with curly maple veneer. I love the contrast and surprise it gives when you open the drawer. 

The foot of the dresser is a sapele bent lamination. The radius is also 6in. This was my first bent lam and I had problems with clamping and glue up, but all in all we got it done.  

I applied 3 brushed on coats of general finishes arm r seal gloss and love how it shines and brings out the colors in the sapele.
