Dovetailed Boxes

author-gravatar vsur Jan 24, 2016

These are a couple of dovetailed pine boxes I made from pine that was on sale at my local hardware store. The lid features an end grain panel which I made from gluing many small blocks together and then planing and hand sanding it smooth. The box itself was made following the method Paul Sellers recommends for dovetailing on his YouTube channel. It was finished with many coats of shellac, which was then smoothed with steel wool, and buffed out with steel wool and finally with wax and a cloth. Inside is lined with green felt, and the bottom is covered with cloth as well so it rests safely on whatever you decide to place it on.
