Tried for cool-guy rings in the middle of the mortise. I need to work on my decorative markings....

Little punky spot. Which beats the first slice of wood I cut for this bowl which turned out to be a giant punky spot surrounded by a small bit of good wood.

I like the spalting. I should add that that is not the world's smallest denatured alcohol can floating in midair. Would be cool if it was, but alas.
