Serving Tray

Some one that I work with ask me to make her a small serving tray. so after looking on line I saw something that I like but made some changes to it.  It is made from Mahogany for the four sides - cherry for the handles and birch for the base.

The only finish on this was 2 coats of tung oil and 2 coats of poly.

As you can see I put in brass pins (they are only 2 inches long

As this was the first time for me to make a serving tray and no sure if I had the right dimensions vs the size for it to look right. I think that came out just right.

By the way this was all made from skids that I had taken home from work. Mahogany, Cherry and birch but I did buy the brass rod and cut the pins. My co-worker as happy with the outcome
