Built this matching table and bench set for my daughter.  They were based off of plans from ana white's website.  Did a slight mod on the edge of the table with a 2x3 vice 2x2 and using pocket holes from the inside. Its common lumber 2x4 and 1x4.  I stained it with a pacific redwood outdoor stain. Quite simple and doable in an afternoon.
