Recently started turning items other than pens.

Grabbed some Lignum Vitae and mounted it up in the lathe ready to drill out the cup where leather leather will fit in later.

1.25" inches is all we need... mhm...

Round over those corners

Mark some guidelines (size of man handles may vary)

Now that its roughly shaped, sanding. Lots of sanding...

Clean it up, and apply your favourite finish.

Then sand it some more. Repeat last 2 steps until your happy or tired of sanding.

Handle part is done.

Lets use some 4-5oz oil tanned leather.

I know my sizes already so I square it up and mark out where to make my cuts.

Now we have a strip of tassels! Contact cement the bottom strip on both sides

Then roll it up and stuff it in the handle and your done!

Thank you so much, i was thinking that attatching the leather was going to be like this simple process, but i have been searching high and low, trying to verify.
