George Nelson Inspired Shoe Rack
I took inspiration of this project largely from the bench designed George Nelson and produced by Herman Miller. It features mid century modern cues and a healthy nod toward his design.
This project will walk you through all steps from stock preparation to final assembly after pre-finishing. While I prefer to do most of the dimensioning and heavy lifting with power tools, this can also be easily completed with hand tools. The build is fairly straightforward with easily approachable joinery methods that can provide a good challenge to all skill levels. The majority of the work is spent in batching out the many duplicate components between the leg and shelf assemblies.
