Greenwood White Ash Foot Rest with Shaker Tape Top

author-gravatar Lancaster_pouch Aug 02, 2020

I saw a fresh cut hunk of white ash near a spot where I was working. I decided run in and grab and try something new. 0 power tools were used to make this piece.

Some features:

  • Green wood construction with wet legs and dry stretchers,
  • legs splay at around 7* each way and are tapered 2 ways from the shelf line,
  • carving detail on the legs from the shelf down,
  • magazine rack,
  • hand woven shaker tape top with ash shaving pillow, in between weave, for added structure
  • finished with a burnish and wax, to keep that fresh white look
  • 22 round mortise and tenons
