Spherical Kumiko Lamp
Yes, technically it's a truncated icosahedron, not a sphere. But I wanted to convey that this is three-dimensional kumiko, not the traditional flat panels you see.
I've had this concept in my head for a while — whether you can get the panels to shift in three dimensions. All it took was some searching Wikipedia for the right dihedral angles (the angles where each face attach to one another) and it was actually pretty easy to put together! The most difficult or tedious part was papering each of the pentagonal areas between the hexagons. That was NOT something I want to do again.
Anyway, I go into much more detail on the construction in this YouTube video. Hope you enjoy and thanks in advance for any feedback you might have!

Damn, that is cool. And here I am needing to cut a 45 degree angle 3 times before I get it right.
I love it!
Oh I'll tell you, the bevels are NOT perfect haha. Thankfully I was able to hide my crimes.

Haha, thanks Sean! I really look forward to your feedback; I'm still trying to find my content style.
