Bird feeder.

It isn’t anything fancy like some of the entries. But this is my favorite project this year. An older woman came to me and asked if I could help her. Her husband build her a bird feeder over 30 years ago, and he had just passed away a couple years ago. She loved the bird feeder and spent every morning for years sitting outside watching the birds feed from it. Well it had finally rotted out and fell apart. All she had left was the roof and it was in pretty rough shape. I told her to give me that and I’ll see what I could do. She wanted it a dark brown to match the deck and that was the original color and what she kept it painted all these years. The pics will show the original, what I had to work with, and what I ended up making. I made it bigger because she mentioned the squirrels and raccoons getting into it and she liked that. When I gave it to her she was in tears she was so happy with what I did. I was able to keep the boards from the roof to keep a part of the original still going. Far from the most elaborate thing I’ve built, but by far the best and most meaningful.
