North-Russian Embroidery Frame

author-gravatar WoodGate Apr 02, 2024

I made this North-Russian embroidery frame for my sister-inlaw. It is a specialized craft. I hope I got it right so if anyone has knowledge of this style frame and can comment it would be appreciated. It is made out of Birdseye Maple and finished in Danish Oil. The pegs are Walnut. I will top-coat it with polyurethane in a week after the oil is fully cured. I tried using a mortising bit attachment for my drill press and it really did not do well. Eventually I just switched back to the tried and true router.
