Juni's Easel

author-gravatar zbrumbach Feb 09, 2016

I built this art easel for my niece's 6th birthday. The legs and tray are cherry and the back support is poplar with an oak slider. The legs are adjustable by loosening the star knobs at the bottom and sliding the lower portion of the legs in the sliding dovetail. Overall it's about 50' high adjustable up to about 72'. The whole thing folds up pretty nicely by retracting the legs the whole way, pivoting the tray up and loosening the star knobs at the top. There is a leather strap that can be tied around the legs to hold them when folded. I also threw together a plywood clip board for her so she can use plain paper on the easel or take her artwork off and finish it away from the easel.
