Herringbone Cutting Board
I made a Walnut Herringbone Cutting Board for my wife. Pretty tedious but I was very happy with how it came out!
Complete!
Blocks milled and ready to go.
Testing layouts.
The glue up begins! The start of a tedious glue up. I would do a couple blocks most days for about two months or so.
Glue up...
Glue up...
Glue up... moved to the floor as it got bigger
Glue up...
All done!
Before sanding and cutting to dimension.
After running it through the drum sander and having it dimensioned.
Cutting out the side handles. Didn’t take a good end shot of this like I should have.
After lots of sanding and all oiled up!
That may be the longest glue-up in history, you've got the patience of a monk.
It really paid off though, terrific piece.
Thank you! I don’t think I have the patience for a second round, haha. At least unless I figured out a better way.
That's gorgeous. Would it helped/go faster if you pre-glued the boards long and cut the "L" out of that?
