Hope Chest For Pastor

author-gravatar michaellawhead May 11, 2019

My pastor commissioned all the artists in the congregation (mostly painters) to create a piece for his sermon series “To be a man of God”.  I was the only carpenter to submit.  This project is about 12 years old, but I thought I would share.  I wish I had more build pictures, but I was not big on documenting my work at the time.  The chest has a hidden magnetic false bottom to hide buried  treasure maps or whatever.

Nice. Would you post of picture of the top with the inlay after it was finished? I am making a custom picture frame for a religious subject matter original oil and putting templar inlay crosses in the frame. I am looking for ideas. I was going to use "bloodwood" to get a natural red look to the crosses.
