Took some measurements of some of my favorites.  Always like to keep whiskey in the garage incase need to thin paint sterilize a wound or just get smashed.

So I cut another 2x4 as a test for how I wanted to do the cup.

didn't like the vertical glue up.  i didn't have the skill or the sharp enough tools to turn the pine so i scrapped it

decided on a vertical glue up so my tools could reach for hollowing

I bought these hinges because i had never used invisible hinges before.  my cabinet doors weren't thick enough so the offset from the cabinet a lot.

Wound up cutting a strip from the 2X4 so they sit level off the cabinet also repurposed some knobs from our master bath renovation

Most awesome! I assume you already had those hinges since they are a bit overkill. Someone always seems to grab the 1/4sawn 2x4s from my Home Depot so unless I get there right when they are putting out a new pallet, I usually don't find any. The cup is cool have you actually used it?

so I bought the hinges, because I wanted to try something that I had never used.  They are overkill for the cabinet and didn't fit properly.  i got them to work with glue and shorter screws.  The cup i have used just with water, because i am trying not to drink this whole month.  Things were getting out of hand with quarantinis.  The Cup is super light weight, the epoxy makes it look more heavy but its just a pine 2x4
