Matador Side Table

author-gravatar Spectel Jun 10, 2020

I made this table for the 2013 Southern Alberta Woodworkers Society biennial Exhibition and named it Matador because the curly maple tablecloth reminded me of a bullfighter’s cape and the table legs those of a bull’s horns. It was an ambitious project for me at the time and the tablecloth posed numerous challenges that almost ended up as firewood. I have over 150 hours in this project and it’s sitting in a wooden crate because it is more of a studio piece and doesn’t suit our home according to me wife.
