Yellowstone River Table

Intrigued by the river table concept, I found myself looking at some maple slabs at the hardwood warehouse on a day off. I was about to leave, and the salesman said "Just buy it. You know you want it." And I realized he was right. Letting it shop-dry, I drew design possibilities, built a right-size router sled, and enlisted my sons and daughter to assist nights and weekends as time allowed. Design and application evolved, from a coffee table with glass river to a more narrow, taller, floating table with epoxy river.  I had decided it would be a TV stand, but my brother David @lithedesign forbad me from setting a TV on it.  So it became a stage over which a wall-mounted TV would hover. The legs came from the same slab, and the walnut was repurposed from another project.  While pursuing careers and education, we circled back to this when possible, finally finishing when the cursed COVID-19 forced spare time upon us.  And the LED lights?  If you can, you must. #rivertable #TurumiWood
