Cutting out the rough shapes. I had to do each side of the stand in two pieces and glue them together at the top of the arch

Aaaaand one of the joints was too snug and caused the wood to split. Good thing I kept the offcuts, they helped apply clamping pressure to glue it back together

To help figure out how to assemble the stands, I burned in the layout marks. Pencil was too difficult to see on walnut, but these will be hidden when assembled

All glued together. Now i need to smooth out all the curves

Finally ready for sanding and finishing
