Walnut Stool (with cat)

author-gravatar bobhinden Mar 26, 2021

Made a walnut stool for my daughter.    Walnut and maple wedges.

I made the tenons on the legs using my router table with a jig.   Started considering getting a wood lathe.

Cat approved!

Nice! Love the wedge construction. Are they glued as well? Are there stringers on the legs?

That router jig is a great alternative to the lathe. And perhaps a better solution since you won't be constantly on the calipers and way less finish work with the jig. I probably would have just inserted a store bought dowel. Good job!

Thanks!    The wedges are glued in, and there are no stringers.   It should be strong enough.

I considered dowels, but wanted to have a shoulder, so back to a jig or a lathe.
