Rustic Coat Rack/Cubby
This is a coat rack/cubby/wall mount shelf. It's a 3 in 1 project...no big deal. Total cost was about $90 in materials. Some combined joinery and pocket screw approch. And, just to stress out traditionalists, I maybe screwed a pocket hole screw directly into a traditional joint. Boom.
Only kinda kidding..the pocket holes help me keep moving and finish a project before the wood starts to rot.. I am no professional but really enjoy woodworking.

Rustic fanciness. Artistic!

Nice grain movement.

Get hooked!

Large 1×12 red oak. "QUALITY" from home depot. Cut to desired lenghs.

Router in some dados.

Table saw in some dados.

Square up the router dado cuts.

Rough fit.

Angle the sides...rough fit 2.

My favorite! Sanding.

Pocket screws on brace for hanging.

Manual knife used to rough up the edges. Rustic. Right?

Glue and screw all together. Add charm by plugging holes with dowel. Fancy.

Tape for clamps. Rustic fancy?
