Work Bench Frame

author-gravatar jaybobknee Sep 04, 2018

Needed to make a new work bench and flexed as hard as I could on some beefcake mortise and tenons.

Hogging jig I stole from the samari carpenter. Definitely wouldn't use this exact method for fine woodworking.

all squared up

Cutting checks.  This was a terrible method.

Cool perspective of the haunched mortise and a dry fit

Cutting the haunches

Glued up sides

Long skirts and stretchers ready to go.

Hey JayBob,  I'm curious about the dimensions of this bench... 7' ? judging by the stretchers....
Also, did you joint the lumber before joinery or was it good enough off the shelf?
