So I had a very large live edge spalted maple coffee table before that i made and it's beautiful but I became a father and I felt the live edge was too pointy and sharp especially when she starts to walk etc to I designed a coffee table with safety in mind I guess. The top is very simple, made from cherry with a heavy chamfer on the top and a round over on the bottom. All four corners I also rounded so banging heads and shins didn't hurt so much. The 2 leg assembly's are made from rustic hickory and are angled at 7 degrees and all edges got a chamfer. The tables was finished with a satin wipe on poly which left a beautiful sheen and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
