Tall End Tables

author-gravatar robwis Dec 31, 2018

We needed a place to put our beers while playing with the pinball and arcade machine.  So I designed these fairly simple tables (I made two), to slide in between the machines.  It's solid walnut, and I had a little fun with a Maloof inspired joint between the top and the legs.

Leg joint was routed out using a slot cutter stack on the router table.  The inner and outer corners were shaped using a 1/2" round over bit.

Jig for routing out the table side of the Maloof joint.

All other edges got eased using a 1/8" roundover bit.

The bottom shelf is my first attempt at resawing and book matching.

The second table isn't yet finished, but will go to the right.

Very nice i have been thinking of making a Maloof inspired chair. Quite a challenge to be sure.
