Turned Projects

This is several woodturning projects I've completed. My goal in 2019 is to turn more, and I've been pushing into that goal more recently. Maybe I'll get better at documenting the actual process of turning. Lol.

Birch burl bowl that I turned.

Two more bowls. One ogee style bowl out of elm - done with beading and this is the first undercut I ever did on a bowl. A calabash style bowl out of red alder a friend gave me.

A productive evening testing out different shapes. A lot of the smaller pieces were turned from wood I found in our shop's scrap bin. Lol. Perfect for practicing!

More bowls from an evening turning. That last one in the back didn't make it due to a massive bark inclusion.

My friend gave me a scrap piece of maple to make spoons with. I turned a platter instead. Lol.

A small maple dish from maple given to our shop from a local milling company.

More bowls. Testing out ammonia fuming on oak. 72 hours later, the wood had darkened up quite a bit.
