Greene And Greene Inspired Changing Tray

author-gravatar eweb15 Apr 15, 2019

This changing tray was made for a friend's granddaughter. I used maple, that my friend provided me, and ebony for the plugs. It was sized to fit a contoured changing pad. I hope this piece can be used for something else as the baby outgrows this piece. Fun project!

Created a test box in spalted alder to make sure that my box joints were good.

Finger on finger joints. One of my shopmates was courteous enough to be my hand model for this photo.

"pulling back" the finger joints.

The finger joints all smoothed out and rounded over

Planing the base of changing tray. Some of these things are not like the other.

Smoothing the tray with my low angle block plane.

Removing marks from the ebony that will be used for the plugs.

All done. This is the first time I've done vertical plugs and I really love the look!

How can I get the plans for this?

Hi! Unfortunately I don't have a set of plans for this. I based the measurements on a contoured changing pad my friend bought and designed something with his request that it be in the Greene and Greene style. If you have any specific questions about it, feel free to send me a message!
