Cottonwood Table Made From Scrap
This is a little table I made with scrap cottonwood and leftover cutoffs of metal spindles. I work finishing railings and fireplace mantles and I try to keep most of my scraps for fun little side projects. Total time in this project was about 6 hours. The finish coat is minwax spray semi gloss. I used epoxy, pl premium, and wood glue to put it together. Thanks for viewing.

My scrap pile for this project. Cottonwood scraps and metal spindle scraps

Trying different layout combinations for the legs.

Getting some ideas

Built shims to hold the wood in place. I think I found my design here.

Set my main legs into the top for more support.

Starting to set in my cross supports.

Unfortunately got carried away with building and not taking pictures. This is what I came out with.

I was un sure about the stability and balance so I added another set of upright metal supports to the back.

Dry fitting and upright

Glueing the table up.

Glue is dry and my helpers gave it a true stability test!

Taping off the metal getting it ready for the finish coat

First coat of poly on. The grain really pops out now.
