Le Dovetailed Watchbox

This was inspired by previous jewelry boxes i have done as gifts. Also an entry for a handcut dovetail contest.

Figured Walnut and curly maple with matching inner dovetailed tray, top lid with an inlayed (proud) butterfly key of curly maple burl. Plywood bottoms...finished with 3 applications of danish oil and 7 coats of semigloss lacquer.

Completed over 3 weeks, in between running a busy cabinet shop, all joinery hand cut and timber handplaned...no sandpaper was harmed in the making of this box.

Hit some bumps along the way but pushed through and im happy with the results.
