Selecting and milling lumber

In part one of the build series, I go through the steps of picking out the lumber, and my methods for pulling specific parts of the cabinet from the boards. I then show how I get all the lumber 4 sides square.

I really like the multi series long format videos.
Guy, you have a gift for teaching. I can't wait for the next one.
Hey Tim! Should have the next one out in a week or so.
Great video, Guy! Very clear instructions, and the pacing was very good! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this Guild project!
This video was so informative. I can't wait for the rest of this build series. I'm going to start milling some ambrosia maple and walnut tomorrow to build along.
Guy, as always, I really enjoy your videos. This will be interesting to see the entire process not just the short version.
Good stuff for sure Guy! Great video!
Thanks for the kind words! I know this is kind of dry material, but it is essential for a successful project.
@GotClamps said:Cool! That should be a very cool looking cabinet with those woods!
@Sean said:Hey Steve! Glad you could make it! So you think my regular videos are short? HaHa. I had a lot of fun filming these, and I hope that you will be able to get something from them.

@DonnyCarter said:I think everyone that produces videos or how-to blogs (me included) glances over the milling steps. This is really helpful - especially the commentary on stock selection/grain orientation. Really great video
@Sean guild is a great idea. These long form videos would be too much to consume in a single video, and I tend to lose track of multi-part projects on youtube. Having everything in one place is great
Guy I always learn something from your videos. And yes I like the long videos as long as there is good content and yours are good.
Thanks Joe. I prefer the longer ones myself also. Too much has to be cut out of the regular You Tube videos. And along with it, some of the more important things.
