Greene And Greene Inspired Rotating Bookcase
This is a rotating bookcase made of ash and ebony that I built for my mom. She's wanted a rotating bookcase for quite some time and asked me to build one for her. She let me design and incorporate Greene and Greene elements throughout the piece. She has a ton of books, and I'm hoping this piece will bring her lots of joy!

All milled up and marked.

Planing the edge banding flush.

Sizing the areas that will house the books.

All shelves ready to go!

Working on brackets for the base of the bookcase.

Rough look at one of the base corners.

It's all about that base!

Gluing up the mitered corners for the top of the bookcase. I had an issue come up during glue up. Fortunately the wood shop manager helped me resolve the issue. I have a love hate relationship with mitered corners. Lol.

Planing the top flush.

Working on sizing and fitting of the ebony plugs. Some of the most expensive wood shavings I'll ever touch. Lol.

All fitted and ready to go.

Applying finish to the bookcase. Three coats of shellac followed by a couple coats of topcoat.

I used clavos nails to hold the slats of the bookcase in place. Love the look of these.

All done and it rotates! Too much fun!
