Chessboard made from 180 pieces of timber
This Chessboard is made from 180 pieces of timber! Finally I made a Chessboard for my grandfather and dad's chess set which was passed down to me. I made several chess tables when I was 9 years old to sell for pocket money and there is a picture of the nicest one at the end of this video. I used Huon Pine and Black Walnut for the squares which have a Rosewood frame. In the top of the surrounding frame I added Ebony and Huon Pine inlays. I included an intricate inlay in the edge of the frame made from 100 sections of timber. The edge inlay is Zebrano (Zebra Wood) sandwiched between layers of Ebony and Huon Pine. The board is 600mm x 600mm and 22mm thick.
Here is a link to the build video!

Wow! Quite a work of art! A chess board and pieces have been on my list for a couple of years. Do you happen to have any build pictures? Good job!

Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing, i've subbed to your channel.
I sub'd - gave you 2 new subs. I am a big fan of hidden compartments as well.
Here is a hidden motorized compartment I made.
