Hackberry - I think.

Maple, left, and hackberry*.
* note: all hackberry references should be read with "I think" following said reference.

Made two maple bowls, about as thin as I have made any bowl to date. Used my bowl gouge pretty much exclusively. So while they're not amazing, I am certainly progressing in my bowl gouging abilities.

Hackberry.

I like the racing stripe on the bottom, was not expecting that.

I tried to used some malachite to fill a void. Turned out kind of shitty. I am terrible at filling cracks / voids using CA and XXXX. Need to practice more.

Maple.

This bowl has deformed a lot since I finished it. Very thin walls (for me!!). By the end of the day I turned it the bowl was an oval.

Two bowls...... well, the parts of the wood that were not bowl.

Bonus razor. My second CA finish ever that I think came out well.

Shitty razor stand. My idea was to drill an offset hole after turning to hang the razor on. Some of my ideas suck.

Bonus shots. My shitty work bench for my not shitty lathe.

Finished out the chisel holder yesterday afternoon. No glue was harmed in the "making" of this chisel holder. And while it looks like crap, it works well enough for me.

Grinding wheel set up. This is where I have ended up after starting with this: http://www.simplecove.com/183/sharpening-system/.

I mounted the motor, from an old furnace, underneath, the belt is mostly hidden. And the best investment of mine so far is that CBN wheel from Wood Turner's Wonders. It rocks.

Bonus bonus shot. My Rabbit, and a shit ton of his buddies, like to hang out and eat dandelions. They're welcome to all they can get down.
