Miter Keys
Miter joints are only end grain glue to end grain, which without any added support, will potentially fail over time. I show you how to cut some miter keys using a  miter key jig I built in a previous video.

Cutting the Lid Loose
There are several ways to cut the lid loose from the box but I show you how using the table saw. I raise the blade so that it's just shy of 1/2" so that when I cut all 4 sides, there's a lip left on the inside of the box to prevent the lid from potentially collapsing down on the blade when you make the fourth pass. To cut the lid loose I use my hand saw.
