Modern Walnut Coffee Table

author-gravatar Sean Apr 16, 2018

After several hours in Sketchup, this is my modern coffee table design. It features curved frames, floating top and tapered legs. Speaking of the top, it's made out of a solid slab with the live edge removed and flattened via a router sled. For the finish, I applied 4 coats of a wiping varnish to the top and 3 coats to the base. Check out the build video below to see how I made it!

Beautiful, Sean! Love this project. How do you draw and cut make your arc templates? Drawing bow, bandsaw and sander? They are so smooth!

Thanks Antoine! I draw them with a bow, cut close to my line and then use a flexible sanding pad to smooth the curves out. It takes time but it's really worth the effort!
